Mrs. R called for me to go calling with her. Called at Mrs.
Noyes, Goulds, Mrs. H. Wrights & Lizzie S’s. Played with May in
eve.

Thursday 2
Sarah, May & Father went to Lowell today. Mrs Wheeler &
Miranda called. I have a cold & staid in all day. Meeting
here this evening.

Friday 3
Mother, Mrs. R. & I called on Mrs. Keyes, Martins, Lizzie & Ida
Leighton. Ida came here this morn. A very warm winter so
far.
Sat. Jan 4, 1890
Mrs. Dupee called I sewed for May.

Stormy. A few at church. 6 in my class.

Monday 6
Lizzie, Ell & baby came here in aft. I sewed for May all day.
She & I went down for milk & sewed a while for Lizzie. Mr. R
came in eve & played chess.

Have just given up my children’s meet. May & I took a short
walk. Good meet in eve.

Mrs. R & I called at Mrs. Taylors, Andrews, Decaturs & I at
Polly’s. Meet in eve at Andrew’s.

Thursday, 9
Sewed on Mother’s dress. Cynthia came in aft. a little while
with her sewing. Went to meet in eve. at Mrs. Proctors.
Fri. Jan. 10, 1890
Finished mother’s dress. The girls went to Litchfields to tea. I
didn’t feel able & didn’t go to Mrs. Read’s meet.

May & I played Halma for last time this eve. I made them
cookies in morn.

Busy getting the girls ready. I haven’t got well of my cold so
didn’t go out today.

Tuesday 14
Missionary meet in eve. Girls started for Fla. This noon. I
called on Mrs. Farrar & carried some papers.

Wednesday 15
I called on Miranda & asked her to come to prayer meetings &
sing also on Mrs. R. & Cummings. Stormy & [??].

Mother spent the aft. at Farm. Mrs. R. came to see me. Meet.

I called on Mary Hill & Ida Wilkins.

I made some doughnuts in morn & carried the cobbler some.

Very cold & windy. Sewed on Ruths dress in aft. & called on
Mrs. Cummings.

Thursday 23
Mrs. R. & I called on Kate Kebler, Mrs. Sleeper & Luce. Mary Will
called here. Sewed some on Ruth’s dress

Friday 24
Mrs. R. came in morn. I finished R’s dress. I called on Andrew.
Very cold.

Mrs. R. & I called on Mrs. W. Wright, Harris, Hildreth, Fletcher,
& Hunniston. Some of them are sick.

Sent off a letter to Fred. Snows. Becca is sick with grippe. I
went there in morn to see if I could help.

Cynthia spent eve. here. 20 at meet tonight. I walked around
the square & called on Mrs. Harris to talk with her about Wesley
G. Hunniston. Walked home with me.

Cynthia & I rode to Lelands & she called on Days & I on
Litchfields, then we both called on Mrs. Cleve Will. I gave Luces
a pie & called on Mrs. R. in eve a little while.

90 at church 7 in SS class.
Mon. Feb. 3, 1890
I went to Mrs. Fletchers at 11. Mrs. Hunniston & I worked there
until eve. Ed’s funeral was today. In eve Mr. R & Cynthia
called.

Tuesday 4
Martha Taylor staid here to meet. Rained. I sewed on Lizzie’s
dress. Edith Seawill, Eliza [Hull?], Frank & Alfred’s names were
proposed as active members.

Wednesday 5
George Hunniston spent the aft. with me & staid to tea. In eve
Cynthia & I visited Andrew.
Thurs. Feb. 6, 1890
I carried paper to Farrars & called also on Mrs. Aleck Cameron.
Mrs. R. called here.

Friday 7
Snowed in aft. I sewed on Mrs. R’s dress some. Slept in eve.

Saturday 8
Rainy. Went after F. at station & called at Decaturs. Eddie is
sick. & on Aunt Sarah Cumming.

Monday 10
I called at Mrs. R’s & on Clara & Amy. I think of leaving the
C.E.S. It was the first time I have been up stairs there since E.
died.

Tuesday 11
I went to Mrs. Reads but she was not at home so I tried to call
on Mrs. [Walkden??] Mother staid at Mrs. Osgoods. Martha
staid over night with us. Lizzie & Grace called.

Spent aft. at Mrs. A. Reads.

Thursday 13
In aft. did some stitching for Mrs. Farrar then mended
stockings at Mrs. R’s. Mrs. Leavett & Hardy called here.
Washed.

Friday 14
Sewed on Elsie’s apron after ironing. In eve Mrs. R & I went to
farm after milk. Rained some.
Sat. Feb. 15, 1890
Finished Elsie’s apron. Called at L. Spaldings. Found Mrs. R
here when I got home then went with her to Mrs. H. Reads. She
has been sick.

Sunday 16
80 at church, 9 in my class. Walked home with Mrs. R. in eve
then had a talk with F.S.

Monday 17
Served on Mrs. R.s waists in forenoon & eve. Went to Mrs. Sydney
Wrights, M. Hills & Amanda Wheelers with Amy in aft.

Tues. Feb. 18, 1890
Sewed for W. Swept the best chamber so I move to the one over
dining room.

Wednesday 19
Mr. Leavett & Miranda called. After tea I went to Par. & stayed
with Mrs. R a while in study then Cynthia & I called on Addie
Killridge & Martha Hildreth.

Thursday 20
M & I cooked all day for the sociable. Meet here in eve. Wrote a
letter to Mrs. A. Reads.

Had a Sociable here in eve. More than 20 came.

Saturday 22
Mrs. R. [Hary??] R & I went to Ayer to a C.E. Convention with
Amy & Clara. Very Cold.

76 at church 8 in class. An Ex meet after S.S.
Mon. Feb. 24, 1890
Finished M. S. nightdress. Cynthia called then went with her at
4 to Mrs. Proctor’s & Noyes’ & Parsonage. Amy & Clara carried
us & called at P. at same time.

Tuesday 25
Rained hard in eve so wrote a letter to Walter Falls instead of
going to meet.

Wednesday 26
Mrs. R & Ruth Staid here most of the aft. I served for her & she
mended stockings then Marion came to play. I went to
Parsonage in eve & played on game of authors.
Thurs. Feb. 27, 1890
Very muddy. Worked on mat in forenoon. Mrs. R, Ruth & I
went to the Cutters & left M. at Ell’s. Was tired so slept all eve.
instead of going to meet.

Did some stitching for Mrs. Farrar & ironed etc.

Saturday, Mar. 1
At 4 went & called on Mrs. Wheeler, then at Mrs. R’s & Luce’s.

Monday 3
Quite deep snow today. Sewed on another apron for Elsie. In
eve went with Clara & Amy to a concert at Hall.

Tuesday 4
Very pleasant & good sleighing. I made pies & cookies all
forenoon & carried them down to Lizzie’s at noon as the baby
isn’t very well. Then went into town schools with Mrs.
Cummings, then Mrs. R, Mother, Ruth & I called at Days &
Symmes. I had a talk with Henry Colburn & F.S.

Finished Elsie’s apron in morn.

Thursday 6
No meet on account of deep snow. Washed in morn & [rug??]
in aft. I wrote a letter to Ed Boynton.

Friday 7
Cynthia came in aft. while I was working on rug & I went with
her to Amy’s & Mrs. Wheelers to find a place for a sociable. Cold
& quite deep snow.
Sat. Mar. 8, 1890
Read a good deal today. Towards night took a short walk
alone & called at Mrs. R’s, Mrs. A Read, Hall & Leavetts were
there.

Sunday 9
89 at church 4 in my class. Missionary concert in eve. Carl
came last night & will stay until Mon. aft.

Monday 10
Mother spent aft. at Aunt Sarah Cummings while I called on
Mrs. Johnson, [Dupre??] & Decaturs about Cantata & also on
Mrs Leavitt & Parsonage.

Sewing on a sack for Annie Harris.

Wednesday 12
Sociable at Mrs. Wheelers. Very muddy. M & I went about
Cantata to Mrs. Will Wright’s, Hunniston’s & Bert Hildreth. M
held the horse.

Thursday 13
Mrs. R. went to L. to depot with our horse. I went & worked for
Mrs. W. in morn. Swept her parlor & helped do dishes. Had
Hunnistons, Johnsons & Leavetts in aft to sing.

Finished Annie H’s sack. Mrs. R called in aft. Irving & Flora
Wright called to sing. Copied the Cantata in eve.

Saturday 15
Went up to Mrs. R’s [ab mail??] time 5. & found her alone.
Stormy day. then carried some papers to Farrar’s

80 at church 9 in my class. F. & M didn’t go today or last Sun.

Had Ell, Lizzie & baby to dinner. I helped her sew a little.

M sick today with cold. Had Dr. S. for F. too. I got so tired
working, I didn’t go to meet. Slept with M. so didn’t sleep
much.

Wednesday 19
M. didn’t get up until dinner. I ran over to Mrs. Farrar’s with
a paper & slept in aft. I have had a cold this week. Snows
hard.

Cynthia, Becca, & Ida Wilkins called . Dr. S. came again. Meet

I washed alone in morn. Most sick with a cold. Went to bed in

Spent aft. at Mrs. R’s. Sewed for her. Mrs. Hunniston & Maggie

Sewed some on Ruth’s apron. Lizzie S & Cynthia called in aft.
& Mrs. R, Cynthia & I played one game of [palms??] then we
called at Mr. Woods in Thompson house.

In aft rode in wind & open team around square. Called at
Della’s & arranged about having Mrs. [Harris??] come here
about sewing & left a question book with [Bertie H??]. Called at
Mrs. R.’s

Thursday 27
F & I went to Lowell in morn. I finished Ruth’s apron in aft.
Ruth has whooping cough.

Friday 28
Mrs. McArdel called. I expected Mrs. Harris & we were going to
sew for her but she sent word she couldn’t come. My face ached
hard.

Had face ache. Cynthia called & played one game. Mrs. R
called. I looked over my pieces to find something to give to Ida
L. in the eve.

Nearly 100 at church. 9 in my class. El went.

Monday 31
Went to Mrs. R’s in aft & sewed for her. She had me go to Dr. S’s
about my face. Maude & other children came after school to
sing. Cynthia came in eve & played.

Tues. April 1, 1890
The Dr’s medicine cured my face.

Wednesday 2
Maude & Flora came at noon to sing.

Thursday 3
Went to see [Hary M’Cl??] about a letter he sent me & went to
Parsonage in morn about it. After I got home found Mrs. Noyes
here. I called on L. Spalding to ask her help arrange flowers.

Went to an Ice Cream party at Reads.

Saturday 5
Mrs. R & I went to Mrs. Reads & all around for flowers for
Easter. Wesley & Edith S. came to sing. Cynthia & I played one
game before tea.

109 at church. 7 in class. I took care of Grace in morn.
Mon. April 7, 1890
Cynthia & I carried flowers home up in town. Grace L. & Pussi
came here to sing.

Tuesday 8
Mrs. R & I carried flowers home to Mrs. Read & Walkden. Willie
J. & Fanny [Buckin??] came to sing. Rainy eve but I went to
meet.

Wednesday 9
Rainy. Worked on mat nearly all day. Mr. R called in aft.
towards night. Slept in eve.

Had Alfred & Edith L here to sing then I went to Parsonage.

Friday 11
Went to school to see Belle & Maude. Tried to call on Mrs.
Cummings & May Ann H. but didn’t find them.

Saturday 12
Cummings [house??] started today. Wrote some on my sermon
for next
Tues. Walked with Mrs. R drawing Ruth a little while
in forenoon. Didn’t have much Sat work to do.
Sun. April 13, 1890
108 at church. 6 in class.

Monday 14
The Cummings Ell was moved by our house today. One of men
got hurt & was carried over to Farrar’s. I took care of him
nearly two hours. Cynthia came & played in eve. I went there
a few minutes.

Tuesday 15
Very windy. Mrs. R came here & I went with her to see Andrew
& Leonard about teams for Conference. I lead the meet in eve.

Wed. April 16, 1890
Conference here today. I worked hard all day. Cynthia came
in eve & we had one game. Jane came in morn. & stays all
night.

Thursday 17
I took Mrs. R & left her to call on Mrs. Wilson while Jane & I
went to Parker school house to see Edith, then we [look??] &
Cynthia & she & I called on Lelands & & left Jane at Days.

Friday 18
Carried some papers to Farrars. Worked on mat all day. Mrs.
W. Wright called. Cynthia & I played in eve. Mother went to
Luces in aft.

Had my first Cantata rehearsal in the Hall. Quite cool there.
Cynthia & I then called on Mrs. Brown in the Cummings house.

Sunday 20
I took care of Grace. Had 10 in class. Jane came here from
church & will stay until Mon. eve. Missionary concert in eve.

Monday 21
Played games with Jane a little while. After 10 C & I carried
her to Cara Smiths, then I carried C to Mr. Litchfields on an
errand.

I called at Mr. Goods on Miss Bean, Mrs. Jesse Wright & Proctors.

Mrs. Harris called here with some sewing so I went to Amy’s, Ida

Ida Wilkins, Mrs. R. & Cynthia came here to sew for Mrs. Harris
this aft. I finished my rug this morn.

So cold had rehearsal in church & a fire. Grace spent the day
with us as her family went to Lowell.

Rainy. 65 at church. 8 in class. Didn’t go in eve on account
of rain.

Mother & Mrs. Dupee went to Mrs. A. Cutters in aft. I sewed for
Annie Harris.

Went to Mrs. A reads in aft. Meet in eve. Sewed for Mrs. R. while
there.

Wednesday 30
Went to Mrs. R’s about 5 PM mail & sewed a while for her & sent
some papers to Mrs. [Farrar??], Cynthia came in eve & played.

Clean every day now. Sewed a little on Annie’s dress. The barn
opposite us moved off today.

Mrs. R, Cynthia, Ida Wilkins sewed here for Mrs. Harris.

Rehearsal in aft. Called at Mr. R’s. C & I played one game in
eve.

Called in aft at Mrs. R’s & Mrs. Farrar’s mothers. Then at Mrs.

Swept most all day getting ready for girls. Arthur D & Charlie
C. came here & recited some SS. Lessons they had lost.

Girls came home in morn, so didn’t do much but talk. I went
to see Mrs. R. a few minutes. She has a carbuncle.

to ask her to make cake for sociable & carried card to Mrs.

M. & I went to T. Symmes & Mrs. Days with salary cards. Made a
long call on Mrs. Day. In eve. went to sociable at Mr.
Litchfields. I rode with Andrew through fields as house in
road.

Good rehearsal. Mrs. R came to Hall & went calling with me on
Mrs. Feeney, McDougal & a lady at Mrs. Carver’s. Ruth broke
her arm this eve.

102 at church 9 in class. Cynthia came down after meet a

Ell was here to dinner. The girls went home with him & M & I
went for them milking time. I called to see how Mrs R was
before going.

At home all day. Sent some papers etc. to Mrs. Coleman. Played
Halma with May in eve. Mrs. R called in morn.

them to take part & went to G. Drews for a piece & went to farm.

Went to Acad. To ask G. Litchfield to read a piece also to see
Marion & Laura. Lizzie Litchfield called here. Was going to
Mrs. R’s before meet but a shower came up so played Halma.

Sewed a little while for Mrs. R. Slept in eve.

Saturday 7
Rehearsal in aft. Edith S. & May Bunce came to dinner. May &
I played one game about dark. Mrs. W. Wright & Andrew
called in eve.

Sunday 8
We expected Mr. Russel to preach, from Lowell but he failed to
appear so Mr. Litchfield talked. 12 in my class. Leonard had
the eve. meet.
Mon. June 9, 1890
Four of us went to Lowell. In eve Mrs. R & I went to a meet. to
decide about the dinner for Temp. meet.

Tuesday 10
I attempted to carry Mrs. R to depot was late for the train.
Sewed for her all aft. Went to the acad. to send word by May
Balch & Martha about cooking for Temp. Con. Dinner.

Wednesday 11
I carried Mrs. R to depot & went after her. She went to Lowell.
Then about night Mrs. Read & I set tables at Hall & I went &
bade Mr. R. good bye.
Thurs. June 12, 1890
Temperance convention today. rainy. Worked hard. In eve
May & [I] played one game. Mrs. Rowley & Ruth went to Ver.
today.

Friday 13
Nearly all the children were at rehearsal at 4. M. & I went to
Unitarian parlors to an entertainment given by Emma Stevens
class, the proceeds to go for county week.

Saturday 14
Cynthia & I went to see Leavitts about the Cantata rehearsals
but didn’t find them at home. Then C & I called at Luces. M &
I played in eve.
Sun. June 15, 1890
F went to Unitarian. The rest of us stayed at home.

Monday, 16
Grace spent aft here. I drew her to Mrs. Leavitts & called.

Four of us went to Acton to a sing in aft. Meet in eve.

Cynthia & I called on Mrs. H. Wright about Festival in eve. at
Mrs. C. Fletchers & Mrs. J B F’s.

Rehearsal in aft. at church then Sarah & I went to farm after
milk then meet in eve. Mother & May went to Lowell.

Acad. Ex. In morn & Cynthia Hary & I went to Mrs. A. Reads in
aft to choose com. for C.E.G. On way home went to Johnsons,
Bannisters etc. about Festival. Then S & I went to farm for milk
then to meet.

Sarah & I went to L Spaldings, Parsonage etc. about Festival.

Mother & Mrs. Read went to Chelmsford centre to church. The
rest of us staid at home.

Rehearsal this aft. S 7 I went to Days farm, Mrs. Fletchers etc.
about Festival. Meet in eve. Jane came this noon to stay a
week.

Made ice cream, cake etc & picked strawberries. In aft worked
at Hall etc. Cantata in eve.

Wednesday 25
M & I helped F freeze the ice cream in aft. Feel miserable.
Made 46, 77 both eves.

Thursday 26
Laura Martin & I worked at Hall all morn. She went home
after dinner. I slept in aft. An, C, & Hary R & I had a little
meet in eve.

Haven’t been well today. In bed a good deal.

C. came in aft. She & Jane played one game of Halma & she &
I one. I began sateen dress.

Mr. Hamilton today. Only 4 in my class.

Washed today. Jane went away tonight. I sewed on piazza
with her in aft. Miss Quimby called. I called on Cynthia in

Carried the Rowleys some strawberries. Cynthia was down to

Mrs. R & I called on Mrs. S. Hill & tacked some netting on her
windows then C & I called on Alvira [Chiles??]. She has been
thrown from carriage & on Mrs. Morse & M. Hill. Gave her some
raspberries. Picked first blueberries.

Sarah & I got some lilies at L. Spaldings & some meadow rue
near [Snow Huchins??] on the way to depot for F at noon. The
flowers for church.

Carrie, Mrs. R & I called on the Mosses, one of them for broken
leg, on Mrs. Johnson in Decatur house & Mrs. Read opposite
Keyes, then S & I & Mother called on Mrs. Sidney Wright on way
to farm.

I helped Cynthia do her aft work so she could call on Mrs.
Andrews with Sarah. Mrs. R & I called on Mrs. Hill. I carried
her some jelly.

May & I carried Becca to Ida L’s after tea. She had been
picking berries so didn’t see us.

Ingalls Evelyn & children went too. All but mother staid in
woods during funeral then we all went to Nabnasset then I

them to ride in aft. after tree pine etc. After tea we went over to
Mr. Abbots new house. Meet in eve. Evelyn & May to organ

Sarah took company to ride. I went up to Mrs. R’s a little while.

of their money devoted to new responsive books instead of
church cleaning as we had enough.

& I picked barberries down to Ells in morn. Called & asked Mrs.
Hunniston to go on Weirs excursion with us.

Hills with bills.

A few girls came to rehearse their dialogue for Easter. May & I
