Gift Desk Set
Desk set given to Westford Academy principal Albert Cairnes Cook (1902-1994), when he left the position. He was principal from 1945-1947, leaving prior to June graduation. Most WA principals in the twentieth century only stayed a few years, since William Frost (1842-1904) was in charge from 1872-1904. Cook was Superintendent of Ashland Public Schools by 1957. Prior to Cook’s time as an educator, he served in WWII as a 1st Lt in the Army Air Corps.
