Membership Card

Girl Scouts membership card for Aurea Marcott of Westford’s Forge Village, expiring in 1949. She was an intermediate member of troop 34, Lowell Council. Today, the Lowell area is part of the Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts. This Council has 19,000 youth members across 178 communities, according to their website. A fun fact is that the Girl Scouts started selling cookies in 1917, with an associated business plan applied in 1922.

Marie Aurea (Marcotte) Rondeau (1934-2015) was a lifelong Westford resident, living on Pleasant St. for most of her life. Some of her Westford Academy notes are highlighted here. As a high school student, her ambition was to become a nurse. She specifically enjoyed crocheting and knitting, which may be highlighted with her doll’s clothes. Later in life, she served on the Board of Directors of the Cameron Senior Center.
