Black and white photo from 1925 of Viola Merriam Day (1911-2007) who was the dau. of Arthur E. Day and Angie Emerline Parfitt Ingraham (1910-1995) standing in the fountain on the town’s Common. According to WHS records, Angie graduated from WA in 1928, and Alice in 1923. The iron fountain (trough), which faces Boston Rd, is one of several war monuments on the Common from around 1900. Today, the pictured monument normally holds seasonal arrangements.
