Postcard
1913 postcard with a hand-colored picture of Bradford St. in the Forge Village section of Westford. The card was published by L.L. Lester, Lowell, MA. It was addressed to Mrs. Hutchinson, Sherburn Prison, Sherburn, Mass, from H.J. Lord. “Framingham” was penciled in later. This apparent correction was due to Framingham’s 1924 acquisition of Sherburne land, which included what is today called MCI-Framingham, as stated in the 2016 Framingham Preservation Plan.
The note reads:
Am home on my vacation. Having a good time. Seems good to be away from the hospital for a while. With love, H.J. Lord
