This is a color photo of Carl R. Anderson (1934-2018) and his son unloading peaches from their orchard. Carl’s father, Gustave (1902-1983), purchased the orchard in 1967 from Edson G. Boynton (1868-1943). The farm had 27 acres, one of the largest orchards in the area then, and by 1985, it expanded to over 120.
The Anderson Orchards were located along Main St and Chamberlain & Hunt Roads, Most of the orchard land was sold for the Francis Hill Estate and Chestnut Estates residential developments – Oliphant, Westford Gazetteer pg. 28
