Bottle Cap

Cap for a raw milk bottle from around 1920. Stony Brook Farm Dairy was also known as the Fletcher Farm at 3 Plain Rd. Named after the nearby brook, the farm was originally run by Joseph Willard Fletcher (1856-1936) and Etta (Whidden) Fletcher (1864-1921), and was an extensive dairy farm into the 1980s, according to the Westford Gazetteer. The farm was later run by Joseph’s grandson, George Spencer Fletcher (1933-2017). George Fletcher was also, among other titles, a firefighter, animal control officer, Selectmen, WA Trustee, and East Boston Camps caretaker. His farmland was converted into Graceful Way after 2010, while the nearby country store still exists today as Stony Brook Acres.
