Casual family photo of Rita Edwards Miller (1918-2003) taken in the 1920s. From left to right: Flora Edwards (1881-1952), Marie Wright, Rita, and Dog, Jack. Rita was born in Westford, and Graduated from Westford Academy in 1935. In 1942, she married Everret Miller (1918-1993). They lived at 59 Main St near the Town Hall. After WA, she became a student at Lowell State Teachers College, ultimately student teaching at WA. Having a career spanning 44 years within the Westford Public Schools, she was a teacher at the Frost School, and later became principal of both the Frost and Cameron schools. She was also a charter member of the Westford Historical Society. The Rita Miller Elementary School was named in her honor in 2002.

This photo, among other items, was donated by Rita Miller’s estate in 2004.
