The lighting system that was installed some years ago had become most unsatisfactory and the recent appropriation by the town of $400 and the efficient committee in charge are bringing about a good result. The contract has been awarded to L. A. Derby & Co., of Lowell, and the contract for the fixtures to Wetmore & Savage of Boston.

This was followed by a vocal duet, Who is Sylvia? by Mrs. William R. Taylor and Mrs. John Feeney, Jr. Most enjoyable readings were given by Mrs. Avis Fisher of Ayer, Mrs. Albert Parker of Pepperell and Miss Tewksbury of Shirley.
