Fox Creek Stemmed Point, made from black and brown chert. These blades were common in the Middle Woodland period of the Northeast, around 2,000 years ago. They are similar to the Fox Creek Lanceolate, which were more common in coastal areas. All Fox Creek Points were generally less common in New England. “Arrowheads” such as these were likely used as a knife with an attached wood handle. Our Fox Creek was collected by Westford’s Amos Polley (1878-1953) around 1938.
