Postcard



A colorized postcard titled “Parting of the Ways, Westford, MA,” showing a Y at Depot St and Cummings Rd. Postmarked July 12, 1915, from Westford, Mass., with a one-cent stamp. The trolly line tracks are visible on the right. The card is addressed to Mr & Mrs H.H. Rogers of Marshfield Hills, Mass (a Census Designated Place in Marshfield). It was printed by Frank W. Swallow Inc. and published by John Herbert Fletcher (1880-1960). The Westford Center Post Office was in the Wright and Fletcher store when the card was sent.
The note reads:
Should think that you would like to ride up here and stay a few days in should be very glad to go in our car and show you about over the putty road. Fri P.M. took such a putty 50 mile drive. So putty all this. S. W. Hampshire and so hear to us. Sunday went 120 miles to Woonsocket R.I. there to [?] + home. I think this is a fairly good plan to board + look [?]. Wouldn’t this Pa’s [?]? Rains, rains go away. Love to all, [?]
