Glass Plate Negative

A self portrait (glass plate negative) of photographer William Herbert Brown (1887-1957). William was born in New Jersey, and moved to Westford by 1900. By 1910, he lived in Chelmsford. After marrying Freda Willette Johnson in 1926, he moved back to Westford, and lived in the Graniteville section of town. William’s photographs covered many people and places within the area, such as Civil War vet Charles Lewis Adams (1839-1919), Gage Ice Houses, and South Chelmsford Baptist Pond (Heart pond).
