From the Collection

1948 photo of the Boston & Maine engine #287. It was sold to Fletcher Granite Co. in October 1948, prior to being scrapped. The B&M line through Westford was originally known as the Stony Brook Branch, which itself was built as an independent line in 1848. The branch existed in name only through succeeding owners, including Pan Am Railways, until Pan Am was bought out by CSX Transportation in 2022.
