Drawing

From the Collection

Framed, original pencil drawing on tissue paper of the memorial fountain at Westford Center from 1913. It is one of several monuments placed there before WWI. It was designed by metalsmith Joseph Winn Fiske (1832-1903), who was born in Boston with family connections in Chelmsford, according to Findagrave. He established his business in 1858 New York, while working in multiple states in the Northeast. The company remained in the family, before going out of business by the 1990s. Westford’s 1913 Town Report highlights that the fountain was donated by the Westford Grange.
