In April 1917 the United States entered World War I, which had been raging in Europe since August 1914. Many Americans have ancestors who fought in the Great War. In this talk Bob Oliphant will discuss sources available for researching both individual soldiers’ records and the records of the military units in which they served. The talk will be illustrated with examples of these records, mostly pertaining to the 37th “Buckeye” Division.
