Photograph of Wright House

The Wright House, also known as the Lyon House, was built around 1717. It stood at the junction of Groton Rd and North Street, Old Groton Rd today. The house was named after Jacob Wright (1698-1761), as well as Bradley Lyon (1823-1875). It was demolished in 2000. One specific owner was Lt Nahum Wight (1745-1834). He served in the Revolution under Captain Benjamin Bullard, and marched on Concord in 1775. He also served at Fort Ticonderoga as part of the Continental Army. After living in Medfield for most of his life, he eventually moved to Westford where is son, Caleb (1786-1864), lived.
