Sargent House in Winter

Black and white photograph of the Victorian home of Charles G. Sargent (1819-1878). It was taken in 1900, when his son, Frederick (1843-1935), owned the property. The house is designated as 25 & 27 North Main St today. The Sargents, who owned and operated C.G. Sargent and Sons mills (Sargent Corp) from 1852 to 1990, built multiple still standing historic homes along North Main in the 1870s. The Sargent House itself became a nursing home in the 1950s, before becoming a multi-family home in the 1970s.

The photo was donated by Westford resident Chet Cook in 1998.
