Dances with Turkeys

Photo of Everett Jarvis (1875-1951) rounding up turkeys. In 1896, Everett Jarvis married Florence May “Flossie” Blaisdell (1873-1865). They lived at 62 Griffin Road (or 4 Jarvis Way today) where they ran a farm. According to Everett’s tax valuation for 1905, the property had 22 acres, with cows, horses, and poultry. The Jarvises had one son, Frank (1906 to 1998), who graduated from Westford Academy in 1924. He later graduated in 1928 from Boston University, and then served in WWII as a staff sergeant in the US Army. In 1966, Frank married Edith “Edie” Horskin (1908-2001). The two continued to live and operate the farm at Griffin Road. Their house was demolished after 2001, after most of the Jarvis property was sold and converted into Jarvis Way in the 1990s.
