Hidden History-Original Westford Academy Foundation

Original Westford Academy Foundation

From 1794-1897, Westford Academy was located here. It had a classroom on each floor. The second Westford Academy building, now the Roudenbush Community Center, opened in 1897, leaving the original building empty. The building was bought in 1903 by abutter John Cameron Abbot and subsequently sold to Henry Otis Keyes in 1907, who moved it to its present location on Boston Road, now the Westford Museum. Today, you can see an outline of the foundation thanks to a recent Eagle Project and a large granite step marking the original site.
