War Ration Book Four

War Ration Book from around 1940. It was issued by the U.S. Office of Price Administration to lifelong Westford resident Helena McKniff Mickey Crocker (1928 – present). Each book contains coupons for the purchase of goods during WWII.

Rationing of food and goods was common during WWII, with the goal of ensuring the armed forces had enough supplies for the war effort. Copper rationing was a specific example, seen with the 1943 steel pennies.
