Ca. 1860 wood pencil box covered with leather. It contains slate pencil holders, ink well, pen, and ceiling wax. The tray is removable. It was owned by Josephine Kidder Ripley (Oct 29, 1849-Sept 30, 1932). She originally lived in Westford, before moving to neighboring North Chelmsford, where her husband Frederick Knapp Ripley (1846-1914) was from.
