Hammer
Very small hammer (3″ x .875″) made by Joseph Fletcher Prescott (1823-1899) around 1848.

This very fine little hammer was made by Joseph Fletcher Prescott of Westford Mass. father of Elwin J. Prescott probably in the year 1848 or 1849. Joseph Prescott presented this hammer to Sarah Lawrence before they were married as I remember hearing it told.
The hammer was donated by local historian June Kennedy in memory of lifelong Westford resident Mabel Prescott (1898-1993).
