1912 black and white photo of an electric trolley car around 22 Brookside Rd today. The house to the left was rebuilt in 2010, while the retraining wall still exists (Google Maps). The visible house at one point was a duplex, being listed as both 22 and 24 Brookside Rd. Westford’s trolley system included two lines. The one pictured opened in 1907, and connected today’s Nabnassett to the town center. The other line opened a year earlier. This line connected Forge Village and Graniteville, as well as being a part of the interurban line that connected Ayer and North Chelmsford. The trolleys serviced Westford until 1929. Busses briefly replaced this system, before the service entirely shut down in 1932. Portions of these lines were converted into trails maintained by the Westford Conservation Trust.
