Westford Museum
2 Boston Road
Westford, MA 01886

We will celebrate St Distaff Day on Sunday January 5, 2020 from 1-5pm. Bring your spinning and those leftover Holiday goodies to share and the museum will put on the coffee pot. There will be a silent auction of some special items to benefit our hosts at the museum and lots of spinning and chatting!

Spin to celebrate the end of the holiday season! This annual event is hosted by the Westford Spinners for fiber enthusiasts from around the region. Bring a wheel or spindle and enjoy some socializing time. This event is free and open to the public.

Spinners, please bring a fiber-related item to donate to the silent auction and a checkbook so you can purchase something to replace it in your stash. All proceeds benefit the Westford Historical Society & Museum. Snacks to share are also welcome.

Parking is limited. Please feel free to unload at the door and then move your car to Lincoln St. or the Town Hall parking lot. Doors open at 1 p.m.

St. Distaff’s Day; Or, the Morrow after Twelfth-day
by Robert Herrick (1591-1674)

Partly work and partly play
You must on St. Distaffs Day:
From the plough soon free your team;
Then cane home and fother them:
If the maids a-spinning go,
Burn the flax and fire the tow.
Bring in pails of water then,
Let the maids bewash the men.
Give St. Distaff’ all the right:
Then bid Christmas sport good night,
And next morrow every one
To his own vocation.
