Event Type

Local genealogists Bob Oliphant, Patti Mason and Dave Welsh will present four separate how-to lectures for people interested in researching their family history. Each lecture is 40 minutes long. The first will be 7-7:40 and the second 8-8:40, allowing 20 minutes after each one for Q&A. People may come and go for only the lectures they are interested in.

Session 1a: Beginning Genealogy (Dave Welsh)
Session 1b: Sources available for research on the internet (Patti Mason)
Session 2a: Using federal census records – Census records are easy to search and can provide family information over multiple generations. (Bob Oliphant)
Session 2b: Foreign-language genealogy – Foreign language genealogy is easier than you might think; examples will be provided for French Canadian, Italian and Swedish research. (Bob Oliphant)

The program is offered free of charge, but registration is requested for planning purposes.
